NJP-Bangladesh Train Is About To Commence Soon: Shahriar Alam


Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh is now visiting Kolkata and had a session at Sister Nivedita University.

Bangladesh minister this time came to India by driving a car himself by road from Rajshahi. After a 22 hour long drive, he visited Katwa where his maternal ancestors used to live. Nostalgic about India, especially about West Bengal he said, "more road and railway connectivity between these two neighbouring nations is on the discussion board."

While speaking about the bilateral relationship, Mr Alam added, "I have also visited Meghalaya by road and I think India have to invest more in these areas. I will submit a comprehensive report after my tour to India. This is also one of my causes of travelling by road."

Talking about Indo-Bangladesh connectivity, he further added, "We already have Guwahati-Dhaka flight. Talks are on the table to connect CoxBazar and India through Air. The frequency of Dhaka flights from Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai have been improved by every means. Chennai flight also have been started by a Private Bangladesh Airlines and running with full capacity. Both the government are expanding their presence and this is very significant".
